You probably need zero introduction to Fortress if you enjoy video games. The giant entertainment venue has now opened an outpost in Sydney and not only is it much bigger than its Melbourne digs, but it is also the largest video games and entertainment venue in the Southern Hemisphere. With hundreds of cool gadgets and plenty of interactive experiences, if you’re a real gamer, this is set to be your haven. With options to play, socialise, game, dine and drink, you can find Fortress at Chippendale’s Central Park Mall.
Fortress Sydney
The 1000-person venue is open seven days a week with a mix of ticketed and walk-in events. A number of different and interactive rooms await guests including a fantasy-themed bar complete with private booths called The Tavern and 2315 — a snazzy sci-fi-themed bar that will be exclusive to the Sydney outpost. Also on the agenda: a classic big games arcade simply dubbed ‘The Arcade’ with a number of fun arcade games, and the Telstra Lounge, a dedicated zone with 50+ Alienware gaming PC battlestations, equipped with the latest games.
One to keep on your radar is the Alienware Arena, built for gaming events that are suitable for everyone. Featuring a setup for competitive videogame tournaments, the gaming hotspot will come with a huge stage and screen to get you pumped for some esports competitions. Plus there’s a merchandise store on-site, late-night gaming sessions on Fridays and Saturdays, private party booths, and excellent food and drink options brought to your table in case you feel peckish. Once Fortress officially opens its doors, it will also host year-round events including tournaments and competitions.
