Although Fonda only debuted in Sydney around 2017, its instantly become a favourite amongst local diners. Taking inspiration from Mexico’s classic fondas, the restaurant has gone from strength to strength, now boasting of 9 locations across Sydney and Melbourne. Now founders Tim McDonald and David Youl are gearing up to introduce Sydney to yet another casa in the heart of Surry Hills.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be launching Fonda Surry Hills. A great restaurant makes you feel at home and we look forward to welcoming Sydneysiders and visitors to the area into our latest casa when we open our doors,” said Tim McDonald.
Fonda Surry Hills
Similar to its sister outposts, Fonda Surry Hills evokes a sense of warmth and familiarity and some seriously fun décor. We’re talking pastel pink and green hues, soft lights hanging overhead and a general ambience that is casual, yet sophisticated.
But of course their crowning glory comes from their fresh approach to Mexican cuisine. Delicious tacos, chargrilled quesadillas, burritos rolled with their signature flour tortillas, and nachos with house made guacamole and pico de gallo — need I say more?
Also on offer are some killer cocktails featuring their uber popular margarita selection ranging from house, traditional and frozen. You can also look forward to a variety of cerveza (beer), cider, and a wine list. The restaurant is open for both takeaway and delivery.
