Do flowers spark joy for you? If your answer is yes, you’ll be happy to know that the world-famous floral exhibition Fleurs de Villes is returning to Sydney this February. Working with top local florists, designers, growers and nurseries, it has showcased stunning floral displays in over 16 cities around the world. Now in partnership with the Royal Botanic Garden and the NSW Government, the splendid floral show is making its way down under for the global launch of Fleurs de Villes PRIDE.
Fleurs de Villes, Sydney
Presented as part of Sydney WorldPride Pride Amplified, 15 fresh floral mannequins will pay homage to inspirational members and allies of Australia’s LGBTQIA+ community. Showcasing a series of fresh floral mannequins, these dreamy tributes will take over the Calyx in the RBG for ten days. The mannequins are created by some of Sydney’s top floral artists and visitors will get the opportunity to learn more about these culturally significant figures through the floral sculptures.
Along with gazing at these beautiful sculptures, visitors can also enjoy pop-up installations, flower markets, rainbow displays and floral workshops at the venue. Fleurs de Villes PRIDE will also stay open late on February 17 and 24 for Floral Discos, a dance party with live DJs playing tunes alongside the floral exhibit.
Giving budding and established talent a chance to shine, the Pride edition promises an interactive and educational time for attendees. Audiences of all ages, cultures and genders can enjoy these floral displays as they learn more about these incredible people who’ve made a profound impact through the ages.
Fleurs de Villes Co-founder Karen Marshall says, “We could not be more happy to be able to bring joy through flowers to this important celebration of Pride. Fleurs de Villes has long supported the LGTBQIA+ community globally – not only with our florists but also through the stories and people we champion through flowers.
