Sydney’s Lower North has a landed a new organic grocer as Flannerys Organic Wholefood Market is set to open a new store in Neutral Bay this month.
The long-running organic grocer, stocking shelves since 1973, will open its doors at Theo’s Arcade on Friday, 19th June, marking its latest step in a steady Sydney expansion that reflects rising demand for natural health products and wholefoods across the city.
Located at Shop 15, the store sits within the busy Neutral Bay precinct, with parking accessible via Grosvenor Lane, making it an easy stop for locals looking to streamline their weekly shop.
Positioned in one of the North Shore’s most community-driven pockets, the new opening is designed to cater to shoppers leaning into conscious living—from clean eating to preventative health.
Your full grocery shop, reimagined

Flannerys is building on its health-store roots to become a one-stop organic grocer. Customers will be able to complete their entire shop in one place, with certified organic fruit and vegetables, fresh meat, bakery goods, pantry staples, supplements and natural health products all under one roof.
The shelves will also feature a mix of well-known and local suppliers, including NATIV meats, Sonoma Bakery, Brickfields Bakery and Drink Rolly—bringing together some of Sydney’s favourite producers alongside Flannerys’ core organic range.
However, beyond the grocery offer, Flannerys continues to lean into its wellness-first model by offering in-store access to qualified naturopaths, a feature that distinguishes the brand in an increasingly competitive space.

Customers can also access complimentary wellbeing advice on the shop floor, with private consultations also available onsite.
Flannerys CEO Fergus Collins says the move into Neutral Bay reflects both demand and alignment with the area’s lifestyle. “Flannerys tends to resonate in communities where people are already thinking more intentionally about what they eat and how they live,” he says. “Neutral Bay has a strong appetite for quality food, wellness products and trusted advice, which aligns closely with what we offer.”
Sydney’s rising interest in wellness

That appetite has been building across Sydney in recent years, with consumer interest in organic and functional foods continuing to grow.
According to industry insights from organisations like Australian Organic Ltd, demand for certified organic products has been steadily increasing nationwide, driven by health awareness and sustainability concerns.
Flannerys’ expansion follows the success of its recently revamped Mona Vale store, which has become something of a blueprint for its Sydney strategy, blending retail with personalised health guidance.
“The response in Mona Vale showed us that Sydney customers are looking for more than just products—they want knowledge and support as well,” Collins adds. “We’re bringing that same philosophy to Neutral Bay.”
A legacy brand expanding north

The brand’s roots stretch back more than 50 years, beginning as a small bulk wholefoods store known as Mrs Flannerys. Built on the idea that food can play a central role in health, it has since evolved into one of Australia’s most recognisable organic retail chains.
Now operated by The Natural Grocery Company, Flannerys continues to expand across Queensland and New South Wales, with locations spanning from the Gold Coast to Northern NSW.
As Neutral Bay continues to evolve with new dining spots, fitness studios and lifestyle offerings reshaping the suburb, the arrival of Flannerys signals a broader shift towards integrated wellness experiences in local retail hubs.
For resident nearby, it means easier access to organic essentials, local produce and expert-backed health advice—all under one roof.
The Flannerys Organic Wholefood Market is opening at Shop 15, Theo’s Arcade on Military Road in Neutral Bay from 19th June 2026.
