Mopoke — Sydney’s free 24/7 art and culture festival is where it’s at this February with glow-in-the-dark markets, dance parties and an after-hours art and design fair. Visitors can also expect a fiery night out with music, dance, food and exciting fire performances. Can you handle the heat? Because it’s not for the faint of heart. Fire performers, jugglers, hand balancers, and acrobats will present a uniquely immersive experience at The Domain when the lights go out combining elements of circus, dance, and fire performance.
Fire in the Domain, Mopoke
February 4-5 is when it’s all happening and on the menu are a bunch of exhilarating activities that invite you to lean into your artsy side. Plus heaps of Sydney institutions are joining in on the fun including The Sydney Eye Hospital, the State Library and The Mint. A short walk away at The Domain, a fire spectacle will light up the night. Fire dancers will twirl away to live classical music as delicious food items, both sweet and salty, are cooked over a flame. Also on the menu are smoky cocktails and fiery acrobats to keep you entertained.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. The Domain is also hosting three tipis, where you can sit back and enjoy the live entertainment on offer. Or treat yourself to a lush BBQ and smoking cocktail experience curated by ex-Opera House chef Karl Patrick Thomas. Entry to The Domain is free but you’ll need to grab tickets for the BBQ and bespoke tasting experience. Book a spot here.
