If you can’t help falling in love with the king of rock ‘n’ roll, we’ve got some good news for you. Elvis: A Musical Revolution is touring Australia later this year with shows planned across Sydney and Melbourne. The new bio-musical explores the life of the cultural icon and rock and roll royalty Elvis Presley. The Australian premiere will open at Sydney’s State Theatre, before rocking into Melbourne’s Athenaeum Theatre.

The show comes to town courtesy of David Venn Enterprises, who most recently brought the ultimate 90s throwback to Sydney in the form of Cruel Intentions: The 90s Musical.
The production explores the early moments of Presley’s life from his childhood in Tupelo, Mississippi to his ‘68 Comeback Special, which marked his triumphant return to live performance after a seven-year break.
Eager fans will get a chance to sing along to 40 of his most iconic songs including Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog, Heartbreak Hotel, Burning Love and Good Rockin’ Tonight.
Are you all shook up yet? A nationwide search will soon begin for the titular role and if you want to try your luck, head to the website for details.
“We are honoured to be tackling one of the world’s greatest icons through a Broadway musical. Elvis’ life is such fervent ground for this medium from his epic concerts to his unprecedented meteoric rise to fame,” writers David Abbinanti and Sean Cercone said in a statement.
