Whether its part nostalgia or part escapism, we can never truly get enough of Disney. This summer you can indulge your inner child because chef Nelly Robinson of nel. Restaurant is bringing back his incredibly charming and imaginative 11-course Disney degustation for it’s third chapter. Aptly titled ‘Once Upon a Time’, the degustation includes 11 nostalgia-inducing dishes for a unique bucket list experience in Sydney.
Highlights of the Disney degustation
The dishes are sublime and made with a lot of care. Disney enthusiasts will love the attention to detail and overall execution. For this chapter, chef Nelly Robinson is drawing his inspiration from some classic Disney tales.
Highlights include the Coco inspired ‘Day of the Dead’ featuring featuring an assortment of corn, sundried tomato, chimichurri, and cocoa butter along with decadent sugar milk bombs inspired by The Aristocrats.
Also on offer is a bit of Piglet from the beloved Winnie the Pooh in the form of pork belly glazed in honey. Another highlight is ‘Boo’s Best Friend’ — a white chocolate and mint parfait resembling Mike Wazowski’s eye. Also on offer are lovely bunches of coconuts, a callback to Coco.
The 11-course degustation is an absolute delight to experience and every dish comes with a story brimming with the magic of childhood nostalgia. The restaurant is also an expert at surprising its diners so you can expect some fun added elements to your dining experience. It should also be noted that the dinner sells out fast so you’ll want to secure a booking asap.
