Throw on your favourite winter boots and puffer jackets for the annual Christmas in July village in The Rocks. After two long years, the village is making it’s return complete with mulled wine, snow, lights, cheese and all the good stuff in between. As part of the Bastille Festival, the French-inspired Christmas village is all the rage offering everything from comfort food, markets, crafts and then some. The event takes place from the corner of Argyle Street and Jack Mundey Place along Playfair Street all the way through to Atherden Street.

Snag some mulled wine and stroll through the historic laneways as you take in all the winter festivities. On offer are local breweries slinging crafts beers, fire pits and a stunning snow lane. There is also a mulled wine garden and live entertainment filled with marching bands and joyful carol singing.
If you’re wondering what your taste buds can expect, hold tight. France is known for it’s excellent wine and food. So naturally at the Christmas in July village you’ll find cheese galore in the form of crêpes, fondue, pasta in a cheese wheel and more. You’ll also find Belgian waffles, torched-flamed crème brûlée, German hot dogs and other comfort food stalls lined across the venue.
While you’re at it, consider supporting local artisans and vendors who will bring a variety of art, craft and spirits across the 3-day event. As you explore the village, you’ll find a number of fire pits, where you can warm up or toast marshmallows and enjoy chats over a glass of wine.
