Chatswood has long been one of Sydney’s busiest business districts. Home to some of the city’s finest cuisine and shopping, the bustling suburb is now ready to shed a light on it’s eclectic cultural scene with a 23-day event. The CBD activation aptly called Chatswood Nights — Roaming Gnomes will feature food trails, a delightful light show, live music and 12 giant inflatable gnomes.
Chatswood Nights — Roaming Gnomes
In case you missed it, a year-long festival called Culture Bites, featuring twilight concerts, mesmerising light installations, free concerts and aerial acrobatics is currently on in Chatswood. This arts and entertainment program encourages Sydneysiders to explore more of the North Shore’s bustling life. Chatswood Nights is part of the festival adding to the already impressive program line-up.
“Chatswood Nights embraces our rich and diverse population with a choose-your-own-adventure international food trail and celebrates inclusivity and innovation with a world-class light show and installations,” Willoughby Mayor Tanya Taylor said.
The flurry of activity will also provide a much-needed boost to the local hospitality industry as you tuck into a variety of food from around the world.
Catch twelve giant inflatable gnomes lit up daily for 24 hours in front of a number of public spaces and retail centres. And they’re not just around for the gram. Visitors are encouraged to follow the map of discovery to find all 12 gnomes and take a photo to enter the Roaming Gnomes Competition, with $20,000 in prizes up for grabs. All the more reason to plan a trip down.
Also keep an eye out for a 3D animation projection which will feature every night on The Concourse façade apart from mouthwatering cuisine from Malaysia, Korea, India, Europe and a lot more.
Chatswood Nights is on from May 6-29. Find all the details here.
