“This Christmas”, one of Australia’s most successful, talented and awarded vocal groups, Soulfood, will be taking to the stage for a festive performance featuring a nine-part harmony and outstanding beatboxing. The 50-piece ensemble will fill the main auditorium at Chatswood’s Zenith Theatre with jovial songs that will lift up your spirits in time for Santa Claus.
Go “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” with Soulfood.
Comprising of soprano, mezzo-soprano, alto, tenor and bass vocalists, Soulfood brings a rich harmony to the reimagined Christmas songs including “All I Want For Christmas”, “Santa Baby” and “Hallelujah”. The four-time winners of the John Lamble Australasian Open Choral Championships will also lend their melodic voices to a cappella versions of “Winter Wonderland”, “Christmas in LA” and “Merry Christmas, Baby.”
Finalists on Channel 7’s Battle of the Choirs, the vocal group have performed at the Sydney Opera House, The Basement, the Manly Jazz Festival, and Tasmania’s Festival of Voices among a number of other festivals and iconic venues. Members of the choir audition for their places, rehearse weekly and are led by Artistic Director Melissa Kenny who has refined the group’s talent so that they’re on point.
The one-hour performance forms part of the Willoughby City Council’s cultural offering. Dubbed Chatswood Culture Bites, the sprawling arts and entertainment event has featured music, theatre, comedy, dance, children’s shows and visual arts curated specially for the North Shore. And, it will continue in 2023 with more concerts and performances to be announced in the upcoming months. Watch this space!
