Chatswood’s retail scene just got a major upgrade. The long-awaited $625 million redevelopment of Chatswood Chase has officially opened, revealing a bold new design and more than 60 stores in its first phase. The transformation marks one of the biggest retail overhauls on Sydney’s North Shore, drawing huge crowds when it opened last weekend. The ground floor and level two of the centre now boast a completely new look and a refreshed lineup of luxury stores and local brands. Here’s everything you need to know.
Chatswood Chase Redevelopment

The redevelopment was led by Vicinity Centres, the group behind Sydney’s iconic Queen Victoria Building, reimagining the shopping centre as a contemporary social hub rather than just a space to shop. The new layout draws inspiration from Chatswood’s leafy surroundings, featuring open walkways, soft textures, and plenty of natural light that blurs the line between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The revamped centre features more than 60 new and returning retailers, including global names like Armani Exchange, Ralph Lauren and Coach alongside Australian favourites MECCA, Zimmermann and R.M. Williams. A newly expanded David Jones now anchors the space, with local boutiques and cafes rounding out the mix so you can get your luxury and everyday shopping done under one roof.
The reopening weekend drew thousands of visitors with live performances, giveaways and pop-up experiences throughout the centre. Phase three of the redevelopment is due for completion in April 2026 and will introduce a dedicated luxury fashion precinct featuring international designer brands and LVMH houses.
