A series of mini festivals including live music, art shows, film screenings and workshops are coming to Casula courtesy of Casula Up Late. This winter wander through the Casula Powerhouse after hours and get your dose of culture all under one roof. Also on offer are a variety of dining and drinking options on site along with a special night market.
Casula Up Late highlights
On April 23 an exclusive Night Makers Market will come to town featuring a number of handmade jewellery pieces. While you wander around and get your hands on these trinkets, groove to live music by local musician Milkffish and create your own statement pieces with a jewellery-making workshop.
Take a trip to Italy with a free Italian film screening and a musical performance and a quirky Italo-lounge vibe set via Cultura Italiana on May 6 and June 3. On May 7, a night of gothic poetry, dance and experimental sound art combine for your viewing pleasure.
Sydney’s most innovative artists will take to the stage for Galleries After Dark – Being Different, on May 14. On the planner are a number of lively discussions and immersive art performances. A performance by Riana Head-Toussaint, choreographer and multidisciplinary artist with disability, will take over the CPAC with light and moving images illuminating the space like never before.
And finally on June 4, two fabulous Ken Done exhibitions will be launched along with art making workshops and pop up floor talks.
A number of musical performances and immersive art experiences are in the pipeline as well providing art enthusiasts with an intimate experience at the centre.
