Bunnings is a regular weekend feature for a lot of Aussies but this Friday, October 28, there’s an extra incentive to head down to your local store for a snag (not that we needed one). Bunnings is hosting a sausage sizzle fundraiser to help out communities across Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania that have been impacted by the recent flooding. Over 300 stores across the country will be participating and every cent raised from the sausage sizzle will go directly to The Salvation Army.
Bunnings fundraiser for flood relief
Drop by your local Bunnings store anytime between 9am and 4pm, grab a sausage sandwich and you won’t just be helping yourself. The sausage sizzles will be hosted by Bunning team members behind the grill.
“As a part of the local communities who have been affected, which includes some of our own team, we want to help,” Bunnings Managing Director, Mike Schneider said.
“Our team members always embrace the opportunity to get behind the BBQ to help out. We are pleased to be partnering with The Salvation Army who are doing an incredible job supporting communities who have been impacted,” he added.
Major flooding has occurred across northern Victoria and much of New South Wales in the last few weeks with more rainfall expected in the coming months. Flood warnings have been issued for Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia.
If you’re not able to go to your local Bunnings but are keen to help out flood-affected communities, there are options available to do so through the Bunnings website.
