Attention, Dearest Reader! Netflix is bringing the historical romance series, Bridgerton to life in a glamourous weeklong celebration in NSW. If you’re amongst the many people obsessed with the scandalous drama, you’ll want to plan a trip to the lovely country town of Bowral which has transformed into a Regency-era town until April 23 with local businesses joining in on the steamy soiree.
“Australian fans are cordially invited to carriage to the rolling hills, manicured gardens and picturesque shopfronts of the historical town of Bowral in the Southern Highlands of NSW for a country excursion with a splash of regency magic to celebrate the upcoming season of Shondaland’s hit series Bridgerton,” Netflix says.
Bridgerton comes to Bowral
Among the many delightful things happening around town, visitors can head to Bowral’s popular The Press Shop cafe for photo ops against a dreamy floral backdrop or head to antiques shop Dirty Janes for Regency-inspired fashion and decor. Stop at the ever-popular Gumnut Patisserie for a Regency-inspired bite or make your way to Harry’s for more photo ops. Corbett Gardens, Books Ever After and Coach House Collective will also partake in the fun among other local businesses.
As part of the program, you’ll get a chance to catch the first episode of Bridgerton Season 3 at Bowral’s Empire Cinemas weeks before it premieres on Netflix. There will be four free screenings at Empire Cinemas on April 22nd and 23rd with ticketing information to drop soon. The event will also close out on Tuesday, April 23 with a regency-themed Garden Party where you’re encouraged to dress in your finest. You can find more details and register for the event here.
Bridgerton season three focuses on the love story of Colin Bridgerton played by Luke Newton and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), aka the infamous Lady Whistledown. It is coming to Netflix soon with the first four episodes dropping in May 2024 and four more releasing in June.
