Spring arrives at Breakfast Point this Sunday with a full day of food, shopping, live entertainment and family activities, as the annual Breakfast Point Spring Festival takes over the Village Green.
Held on Father’s Day, 6th September, the free community festival will run from 9am to 3pm, bringing close to 80 stalls together with local businesses, independent producers and food vendors for one of the area’s biggest spring gatherings.
The festival offers a fun Father’s Day option for families looking to get out of the house without committing to an expensive day out—entry is free, while visitors can browse boutique fashion, artisan goods, plants, skincare and gourmet food.
Kim Radford, General Manager of the Breakfast Point Community Association, says the event has a particularly local character. “We support it because it is genuinely ours—our own residents and local businesses have stalls, our community groups perform, and the whole thing is free to attend.”
Eat your way through the globe at Breakfast Point

Food will be one of the festival’s biggest crowd-pullers, serving up a distinctly multicultural menu of wagyu skewers, Colombian arepas, dumplings, Korean street food, churros and gozlemes.
Visitors can also indulge in loaded long chips, gourmet hot dogs and other festival favourites, alongside drinks from local and independent producers.
The broader spring market season also reflects some of Sydney’s current food obsessions, with matcha appearing in flavours including Banoffee Pie, Ube Halaya, Miso Caramel, Sakura Bloom and Yuzu Sparkling.
Elsewhere, the viral-food trend continues with crystallised tanghulu fruit skewers, Dubai-pistachio brownies, giant crème brûlée, birria tacos and cheese-wheel pasta prepared in front of diners.
Moreover, families can revel in plenty of entertainment beyond the food stalls. Free children’s entertainment will include puppet shows, giant bubbles, a petting farm and roving characters, while rides and face painting will add to the festival atmosphere.
Kids can also get hands-on with activities including gem making, lip gloss, slime, decorating, iron-on patches and DIY pens.
Local businesses take centre stage

The festival will showcase businesses from Breakfast Point, Mortlake and Five Dock, alongside country producers selling products such as raw honey, beeswax skincare and other farm-inspired goods.
There will also be live music, a local dance performance and a community art show, giving the event a distinctly neighbourhood feel.
Madelienne Anderson, Director of Cambridge Markets, says keeping the event accessible is particularly important while household budgets remain under pressure. “People are being careful with money right now, so we are proud that at every one of these markets you can bring the whole family, be entertained all day, and not pay a cent at the gate.”
