Banksia Bakehouse is dishing up the ultimate winter warmer this July. The CBD staple has joined forces with TRUFF for a sublime Chicago Style Deep-Dish Pie chock full of slow-cooked brisket, chorizo, mozzarella and cheddar and drenched in TRUFF’s original hot sauce — a delicious concoction of red chilli, real black truffles and agave nectar.
Banksia opened back in 2020 and quickly gained popularity thanks to its decadent cakes, pies, pastries and croissants. Now the bakehouse is steering away from its traditional roots and trying their hands at something extra saucy and savoury.
TRUFF x Banksia
Encased within Banksia’s popular flaky pastry, Sydneysiders can experience a slice of the Windy City right here at home. Previously dropping creations like the Cramington and the Cruffin, Banksia is now taking on this savoury challenge.
“Americans might typically think of pies as dessert, but in Australia, pies are a savoury staple. We wanted to bring more innovation to an Aussie classic using TRUFF and we think this pie does just that,” says Aileen Zhang, Co-Founder of Banksia Bakehouse.
Hot sauce lovers will especially enjoy this delicious creation, which is packed with heat and flavour thanks to Truff’s hot sauce — a popular condiment with tequila and fine dining dishes.
You can get your hands on Banksia’s Chicago Style Deep-Dish Pie from July 4. The pie will set you back by just $10 and you can grab it from Banksia Bakehouse’ George Street outpost.
