Artbar, the adults-only after-dark art party at The Museum of Contemporary Art, flips the museum experience upside-down and gives revellers the chance to dance, drink and delve into art like never before.
Kicking off this Friday, February 7, the Artbar 2020 season has a run of four spectacular Friday nights with every edition featuring different artists, interactive installations, and performances across all levels of the museum, including the rooftop terrace where DJs will be spinning tunes against the harbour backdrop. This Friday sees Performance Space curating Artbar and challenging the traditional notion of love and relationships. Explore its various forms, especially those that don’t often make the front of Hallmark cards on Valentine’s Day, as you wander the hallways to tunes by Sidehustle DJs and Bimbo Deluxxe.
Friday also presents itself as one of the last opportunities to catch the exhibition of acclaimed British artist Cornelia Parker which closes its doors on Sunday, February 16. So, get in quick if you haven’t yet stood face-to-face with the sculptures and installations of one of the most important artists working today.

And though Friday is only a day away, there is still time to take advantage of the Artbar experience by purchasing the Artbar 2020 Package to all four events, including the much anticipated Sydney Biennale (NIRIN) and VIVID Sydney edition event coinciding on Friday, May 29 – certain to sell out.
The third and fourth Artbar events take place on 28 August (curated by Gary Carsley) and 27 November.
