Date night is sorted with this virtual concert, wine and two-course dinner.
While we’ve had a few good nights in these past seven weeks, it hasn’t been easy finding ways to make them extra special. However, there’s a renowned pianist, award-winning chef and experienced sommelier who want to take you on a trip around the world through your senses with a virtual concert. This just might be the best Friday night to be had in lockdown.
All you need to do is purchase a ticket, wait for the package and show up online at the right time—just like you would if you were boarding a plane.
Passengers onboard the Around The World In 88 Keys tour will be entertained by concert pianist Van-Anh Nguyen whose 2020 Peaceful Piano Essentials album topped the Aria Classical Charts. This virtual concert continues Nguyen’s Perfect Pairings series, a concept that pairs music with wine, and will transport those tuned in to places we can only dream of being visiting right now.
Wines have been chosen by sommelier Angelica Nohra of Direct Wine Cellars with a selection that crisscrosses the globe. From the vineyards of France to the mountains of Argentina, South Africa’s Painted Wolf Wines to a Chilean Gran Reserva and back around to the Mediterranean with a 2010 Sensi Vin Santo del Chianti DOCG from Italy, you’ll be carried away by your hosts.
It’s going to be a whirlwind adventure and thankfully there’s food to keep you going thanks to Blue Door executive chef Dylan Cashman. The two-course dinner begins with a handmade, organic chicken liver parfait with strawberry & apple cider gel, served with bread & pickles before taking inspiration from North Africa with a slow-cooked, pasture-raised lamb shoulder with a freekeh, apple & fennel salad with fetta & herbs. There’s also a vegetarian option of handmade ricotta and whole-roasted cauliflower.
Just like any flight, there are different ticket options available for this round-the-world trip.
The First Class Ballers ticket includes concert access, the two-course dinner, the five wines in 65mls jars plus a bottle of Henri Abele Champagne as well as a flower bouquet that you can gift or keep for yourself. The Works ticket, however, is all the above minus the Champagne and flower bouquet. You can also purchase access to the concert and food only, the concert and wine only, or just the concert if all you need is the music to make your night extra special.
In order to ensure delivery, sales close August 25 at 7:30pm for orders including food and August 26 at 4pm for any orders including wine.
