If you’ve been looking for the ultimate way to burn off some of that after-school energy, your search is about to end. The massive Area 51 has officially touched down in Sydney, bringing an all-in-one adventure park concept across the border after taking Queensland by storm. The new venue has opened in the Hills area, marking the brand’s first location in NSW. Spanning around 4,000sqm, and designed for children aged 12 and under, this outpost is now officially the largest indoor playground in Sydney, complete with VR gaming arenas, trampoline zones and interactive attractions all under one roof. Here’s everything you need to know.
Area 51, Castle Hill

Inside the huge new spot, families will find a fun mix of physical play zones and immersive experiences. Expect everything from trampoline courts, including areas set up for dodgeball games, along with large climbing walls, high ropes and obstacle-style play areas that stretch across multiple levels. One of the key highlights is the 250sqm Snow World, where real snow falls indoors at scheduled intervals, giving kids the chance to play in snow without leaving Sydney.
There are also VR gaming rooms designed for older kids. These are separate from the main play areas and focus on interactive games rather than physical activity. A standout attraction is Dragon Rider, a motion-based VR experience that simulates flying through the air. Plus find an on-site cafe serving coffee and food, if you’re feeling peckish and dedicated toddler zones so younger kids have their own space to play.
