Sitting 300 metres above the ground, Bar 83 can fairly safely lay claim to some of the best-uninterrupted views of sunsets anywhere in the world. With floor-to-ceiling windows and 260-degree views of the city and its surroundings, the bar is definitely making good use of Sydney’s natural and built features.
As part of the Trippas White Group’s $12m refit of Sydney Tower, Bar 83 has been transformed and once again soars above the rest of the city. Many of the bar’s internal walls have been removed to allow for sunset and skyline vistas from pretty much anywhere inside and it has also had a retro-futuristic makeover with striking red, gold and white details throughout the space.
The result is a stunning cocktail lounge that is both stylish and pops with energy.
Sunset Seeker packages at Bar 83
But to really experience what’s on offer, Bar 83 has put together three ‘Sunset Seeker’ packages for you and someone special to take advantage of. The three packages on offer allow for a two-hour sitting starting with a bottle of bubbles to accompany your time together.
As night falls, you’ll be treated to a tasting plate and/or half a dozen to a dozen oysters and a selection of sweet treats depending on the package you selected. While package one will see you pop open a bottle of prosecco, package two uncorks a bottle of G.H. Mumm Champagne and package three sees a bottle of Perrier-Jouët ‘Blason’ Rose served. The packages start at $120 for two.
With an equally fabulous cocktail list by award-winning bartender Jenna Hemsworth, Bar 83 is one of the best places to sit back, drink up and experience Sydney on another level. The drinks menu is rounded out with mocktails plus plenty of quality, top-shelf liquor. From gin to brandy, whisky to wine, and a decent selection of aperitifs, digestifs and liqueurs, everybody is catered for at Bar 83.
To really take your night to the next level, you could make a reservation to spend the night among the clouds at Infinity—the high-dining restaurant replacing the outdated 360 Bar and Dining.
Headed up by Mike Dierlinger of Bridge Room fame, Infinity focuses on modern-Australian cuisine with an international twist, which Dierlinger has picked up on his travels around the world and his time working in Michelin-star and hatted restaurants throughout Europe, south-east Asia and Australia.
Dierlinger has also helped shaped the menu creation for Bar 83, so those sipping on cocktails in the luxury lounge can also feast on great food and not just on 260-degree views.
