Sydney’s Sparkling Wine Festival Will Be Back In May 2021

Sparkling Sydney tried to sparkle twice in 2020.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible to have their day in the sun during 2020 so the organisers behind one of our newest and favourite events have settled on a new date in 2021. We’re still so very excited because they’ll be setting up at Pirrama Park with all the goods they tempted us with earlier in 2020.

If you don’t remember, that’s more than 60 sparking wine varieties and handpicked gourmet-food pairings, like The Ridge North Lilydale Sparkling Rosé with Signature oysters.

Though wine is the hero of the day, you are the guest at Pirrama Park, Pyrmont on Sunday, May 30 as a whole cast of sparkling wines, gins, ales, foods and goods descend on the harbourside lawns to treat you right and make you shine.

Entry is free but tasting packages, starting at $26, will put a sparkling wine glass in your hand and four drink tickets to begin your day discovering top local wine producers and international labels such as Brave New World, Hanging Tree Wines, Iron Gate Estate and Tulloch Wines, to name but a few.

A range of sustainable, ethical and flavoursome produce to nibble at will also be available on the day. But because one day is simply not enough time to sample everything, take along your shopping bag to make sure you don’t leave without a little bit of everything.

Goose on the Loose will be on site with their award-winning salamis, Huter Valley Cheese Co will be satiating your cheesy desires, and Choux Patisserie will take care of your sweet tooth with their handmade eclairs. And to keep you shining long after the day has ended, pick up some Champagne soap or pink sparkling shampoo from Loveshak.

On the day, gourmet food will not be in short supply either. Fill up on Jimmy Lik’s Asian fusion dishes; Le Coq Rotisserie will serve up traditional french onion soup as well as loaded baguettes; Lucios Pizzeria’s will be bringing Napoli to our shores; hand-made Italian style gnocchi will be provided by The Gnocchi Way, and Spanish paella by Sofrito.

So take in the harbourside views while you sip on a glass of bubbly, wander from stall to stall sampling the goods, and relax with your friends on the lawns because Sunday, May 30 is the day to celebrate all things sparkling, including you.
