The much-loved Parramatta Lanes is back for another bumper edition this October, and will see a host of food, entertainment, music and art take over the streets of the ‘hood over four huge nights from 23–26 October. From international eats and pop-up bars, to vibrant art and light installations, there’ll be plenty of ways to experience this lively nighttime festival in its 2024 iteration.
Parramatta Lanes 2024
Parramatta Lanes 2024 will run across a whopping 16 festival sites, with food, music and art waiting to be discovered in laneways, gardens and car parks across the suburb. Entry is free to each of the sites, too, giving the whole festival a strong choose-your-own-adventure vibe.
Reflecting the suburb’s vibrant multicultural landscape, Parramatta Lanes will this year see over 70 food stalls plating up delicious dishes from around the world. Look out for fiery skewers by Hoy Pinoy, stacked two-handers by Burger Head and fried chicken by Flappy’s, as well as sweet treats by the likes of KOI, Mr Spanish Churro and Yummy Yummy Knafeh. There’ll also be pop-up bars dotted throughout the streets.
Setting the soundtrack will be a kaleidoscope of music across eight stages, with genres ranging from alt-rock to Afrobeats. The international music line-up includes artists like Colombian psychedelic funk trio BALTHVS, shoegaze/dream pop Thai troupe Death of Heather, Melbourne artists DoloRRes and Grace Cummings, and Western Sydney’s own B Wise and Bodega Collective, who will be hosting one of their vibrant Pass the Mic nights. You can also catch vibey Bollywood beats from the Justice Precinct Courtyard.
Arts are also a huge part of the festival, and the four nights of the festival will see the streets, laneways and gardens of Parramatta come alive with colour and entertainment. Don’t miss the likes of giant inflatable flower art from Parer Studios, a 2.4-metre-high pyramid adorned with works by street art group Donne, hoverboard dance performances, and a moving performance piece by Fei Gao on the Eat Street Car Park rooftop that explores migration journeys of Parramatta’s diverse community.
