It’s a soggy festive season this year round but there’s a lot to be grateful for. If you’re not feeling the Christmas spirit yet, St Mary’s Cathedral is back with their annual Lights of Christmas display and it’s all the festive cheer you need despite the gloomy weather. Sharing stories of peace, love and goodwill in a wonderful display of storytelling, it’s the ideal family event to get you in the spirit of Christmas.

Lights of Christmas 2021

On now until December 25, the light display and projections make for one of Sydney’s favourite free holiday traditions. Drenched in Christmas lights and sparkling visual effects, you can also look forward to choir performances and brightly lit Christmas trees at the event.

Choir performance begins at 7.30pm daily with the light show spectacular commencing at 8.30pm. The show runs for 15 minutes, repeating all evening until 11pm.

This years theme is titled ‘Home’ and if there’s one Christmas event you’ll want to brave the rains for, it’s this. Taking digital storytelling to new heights, the free lights display is a continued and beloved Christmas tradition that takes over St Mary’s Cathedral yearly.

Pack a picnic or get your treats from one of the food and drink stalls available on site and enjoy the Cathedral’s famous glass stained windows turn into a kaleidoscope of colours.
