After experiencing huge success in cities across Australia, the stunning Candlelight series is finally coming to the Central Coast this winter. With the help of spectacular live music performances and hundreds of glimmering candles, audiences are sure to feel enchanted while unwinding in one of the region’s most serene settings.
Described as the “friendliest little theater around,” Avoca Beach Theatre will be hosting a candlelit tribute to the Queen this June. Performing with violins, a viola and a cello, a gifted string quartet will be swapping out the iconic rock band’s electric guitars and drum kit for their classical counterparts to give fans the chance to experience Queen’s music in a whole new light.
Candlelight at Avoca Beach Theatre
From humble beginnings as a movie theatre to becoming a hub for the local community, Avoca Beach Theatre has an interesting story to tell. In 1948, brothers Mervyn and Norman Hunter first opened the venue as a cinema in their own front garden. A few years and many refurbishments later, the cinema was transformed into a multi-purpose venue that included a real estate office and even a small church for residents in the area to use. Cut to the present day, this 500-seat setting now hosts weekly film screenings as well as sensational live music events and is still run by the same family.
Taking place at Avoca Beach Theatre, this extraordinary tribute to Queen will certainly have you going radio gaga this June. Just as you’d expect at a typical tribute concert, a group of talented musicians will be performing hits including Killer Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody for fans to enjoy over the course of an hour. However, this sensational concert has a uniquely classical twist up its sleeve. Queen’s most iconic songs will be reimagined by a brilliant string quartet while a sea of flickering candles illuminates this beautiful venue beloved by the locals and visitors alike.
The soothing combination of flickering candlelight and live music on strings makes this Candlelight concert an enchanting experience to remember. Take your seat at Avoca Beach Theatre and enjoy this mesmerising tribute to Queen that is sure to wow fans of the rock band as well as classical music lovers.
On 23rd June there will be two back-to-back performances starting at 6:30pm and 8:30pm. Doors open 45 mins prior to the start time, which gives you plenty of time to get comfortable and appreciate this magnificent candlelit setting in all its glory.
